Grape Snow Cone

Daddy says - the Brian Regan bit about playing Little League baseball is very true for most kids. For you - it's a blue icee.

Coach: "Are you any good?" Young Brian:"I dunno, my mom sent me..." "Well, go to right field." "Oh, okay." "Turn around, you moron!" "Oh, okay" (Turns around all the way) "Not the whole way!" "Oh, just some?"
"How many outs Brian?" "GRAPE! I'm gonna get grape, or cherry. They're both... favorites, so either one is good, but if they have both, I'll get grape, because grape is a little more favorite. But if they don't have grape it's like alright its fine, cause cherry's favorite anyway. It's like another favorite, but not as much. Not as much favorite. But they're both good. They're both good." The second baseman was always tryin' to help me out. "Hey, Brian move that way a little." "Okay." I don't know what gave him the authority to tell me that. "Oh, here? Oh, right here? Oh, over there, okay. This is where I was!" I remember he'd always tell me. "Two away, Brian! Two away!" "Uhhh..okay. "Brian! Two away!" "You too!"

Last Baseball Game

Carter-

You finished the T-ball season strong at 1st base and even got a couple people out. Your best showing was at pitcher when you fielded and tagged 3 players out. Your worst showing(s) were the 2 games when you were bored with the position and quit.

When you want to play, you're pretty good and your fielding and throwing have both gotten better this year. We'll see what next year brings or if you want to play fall ball.

Either way - your team is pretty cute.

End of Fall Ball

Car- car-

You and Daddy had your ups and downs (with proper baseball practice behavior), but I think fall ball was a success. Check out this decent fielding and throw to 1st.
At the last practice - you played game against the parents. Here's Daddy hitting to you :)

Fall Ball Cuties

Car-car-

Fall ball started this week. You were pretty excited on Tuesday and Dad said you did great. And Bennett's there -

Sounds Game

Daddy surprised you last Thursday - once he got back into town - and took you and your sister to the last regular season Sounds game. You were one of the first ones in the stadium, met Booster - the Rooster, a couple real baseball players, and got a replica of the stadium.

I think you had a great time!

Tee Ball Opening Day

Car-car-

You're Dad and I were so busy during your 1st T-ball game that we had to grab a couple pics later at the house. Overall - the game went great and you/your team had a great time. I have no idea if anyone kept score.

Our only player-related injuries were due to excessive hugging after the game or tackling teammates to get the ball. You were not involved in either. During the 2nd inning - of only 2 total innings played, you asked to play Catcher and really seemed to like it. So Coach Daddy is going to keep you there for the season. Nice!

You and your whole team hit great - although you were a little overwhelmed by all the fans cheering - you kept smiling and looking around - rather than looking at the ball.

The dugout was kind of mess - but no worries - Team Manager Mom has already got a plan for your next game - that includes seat assignments, baskets for your gear, a line-up/position chart, and even some chants that Cheer Captain Maevy might lead you all in.

Luckily your next game is not at Noon - since you spent the majority of the last game (while in the dugout) and even once while you were supposed to be on the field asking for various snacks, lunch, and water/gatorade.

 In the dugout -

Pretty stinkin' cute. Looking forward to more game!

Love,

Mommy

T-Ball Eval

Somebody was crazy ready for his T-ball evaluation. All morning - about every 2 minutes, you asked if it was time for baseball.

We ran to the store to grab new cleats (the ones I found from a friend in storage were too small) and a pair of XS baseball pants. You picked out a t-shirt that had baseballs on it, but had to wear a light hoody since it was a little cold. And yes, you're wearing brown dress socks - they were the longest socks you had at the time. Luckily East Nashville Little League will be hooking you up with a uniform and extra gear. While waiting in line to get sized for your uniform, you noted that you needed a hat. Very true...one is in the mail to you now. :)

During the eval you were great and seem to do well using the FM system and listening to your coaches. You practiced throwing the ball, fielding ground balls, and running the bases.

Daddy's planning to Asst. Coach and will be attending the draft this Saturday. He really hopes you'll end up on the Nationals team, if there is one.

Practice starts soon...can't wait to see you on the field.

Love,

Mommy
