Almost 3 updates

Oh my goodness cute boy!

1. Hair - Around Thanksgiving - we had a lice situation via Holly Street and your sister - so we opted to cut off all of your beautiful locks. Your hair finally growing back some and I'm hopeful the curls return.

2. Hearing - Your last hearing test was okay. You're still at that age that fatigues early and doesn't always give the audiologist the clearest of answers. BUT - what we did get was consistent with all previous tests.

Once you moved up T-4, which is bigger in every way - room and class size, it was very clear that the classroom was much louder- making it even more difficult for you to hear your teacher's instructions. Mommy immediately asked Vanderbilt if they had an FM system we could borrow until you get your own FM system through Metro Nashville (when you turn 3).

It took a a couple hours of playtime at home for you to get used it, and it's only for 1 ear, but it's made a huge difference. Your teachers are using it all day long - during circle time, table-art time, and outside while on the playground. Mommy and Daddy like using it during car rides, outside, or a place where you want to run free.

3. Speech -  At your December appointment with Ms. Geneine, she recommended starting weekly speech visits. Mommy and Daddy alternate taking you and you are already making some great progress.
So far -we've checked off  -Initial/Medial/Ending - "P" sounds/words
We're currently working on our "T" words. You can get frustrated, but are still working hard to get these sounds right. We get so excited and do all kinds of dances, kisses, and high fives when you've mastered a word - this week it's been "table" and "time".

Your narrative speech is still coming along, and most recently your imaginative play has really increased. Your teachers report that you love all the centers and all your friends. It doesn't surprise me that you like being friends with everyone!

4. Potty - For the most part potty time is going great, but we're still working on #2. You've been telling everyone that you get an excavator if you go poop on the potty, BUT have yet to actually go poop on the potty.

5. Sleep - Going to bed has gotten a million times better in the last 3 months. Most nights we are done with your bedtime routine by 7:30p and you are asleep by 8p. This week you've also actually stayed in bed until your clock turns green - then yelling the second it turns green - "Mommy - the clock is GREEN!" None of the above is consistent, but I have no complaints. Last night- for instance- you had tons of energy, and were found/you came out of your room twice completely naked! - after taking off both your footed pajamas and your pull-up. Both times - you gave this hilarious sly look - like look at me - this is funny, right?!

6. TV/Toys - You spend every morning before we leave for school watching a show, while eating your dry cereal breakfast, and lately you've become obsessed with one show and watch it every morning.
For 2 weeks - it was Room on a Broom. This week it has been Dumbo.

You are doing more roll playing now - like bringing your baby doll to dinner, feeding her, take care of her, etc... But your go-to toys are still all things transportation and construction.

Phew...I think that's it for your much needed update. Mom and Dad love you to pieces. Note to self - upload some videos from Dad's phone. Lately you've liked dressing up in Maevy's dresses and then dancing to Let it Go from Frozen. It's pretty stinkin' cute.

Love you,

Mommy
