Dad's assistant coaching this year and you're on the Giants! You look so big with your baseball socks and belt. Moments before this picture was taken, I asked to take your picture and you immediately laid down and posed, not like a baseball pose - a relaxed on the ground pose. So silly!
Annual Update:
Things you love:1. Art -
When we moved, we had space for our very own art/maker space. Out of everything we have, you spend the most time here. We can never have enough cardboard and you love the glue gun.
You love Turnip Green and just love walking around looking for things to get inspired by. You've made a house, a garage, a basketball court, trophies for your birthday party, a Christmas tree, and more this year. I loved going to the Hirshorn in D.C. with you and love taking you to art museums.
2. Outside -

2. Outside -
It was on my goal list when we moved to get an outdoor dining table because I knew as soon as it got nice, you would want to eat outside. You did. We did...and then declared it the best day ever.
3. Friends -
You've got lots and love having them over. I think you typically play with the girls at recess, but you float around. Recently at a baseball game, I think you had more friends on the other team. They were all chanting your name. You are also friends with most of the LDC teachers and helpers. We've heard you buy and bring cookies for the Ms. Jessica in the cafeteria, Ms. Ray in the office, Ms. Denning, and Ms. D in the library. I have no idea where you get this money or how much we owe.

Goals:
1. Reading -
We've been doing "homework" for a few months and your reading and writing has gotten a lot better and faster! School work isn't your favorite, but I continue to be impressed by your willingness to work hard. Your confidence has improved and we can tell. :)

2. Bike riding -
Ok so- you aren't riding on your own yet, but I think we can master it this summer. You did master the monkey bars last summer.

Goals I'm taking off:
Speech/articulation -
So you got kicked out of speech in March. Your articulation is crazy good and much better than some of your peers.
Bedtime -
We've gotten into a bad routine when we moved. When it's bedtime, you just take off ears, snuggle with Mom/Dad while we watch TV, then fall asleep. Occasionally if we know you are super tired, we'll lay with you for a minute. Or like last night- you were just tired and went to bed on your own.
I think you just don't want to be in your room by yourself if you aren't ready to fall asleep immediately. You no longer want to be up and playing..so I'm fine with snuggling with you till you fall asleep. We then move you to the bed and you stay there all night. Bedtime is still between 8:30 and 9:30p. Moving you to a loft bed is not very easy, but oh well.
I got you a new alarm clock that vibrates. It's also really loud, but you don't hear it. The first morning it went off, you came downstairs confused saying that something was shaking your bed. Too funny.

You are so creative, funny, sweet, and smart. Your tenacity and exuberance never ceases to amaze us. We're so proud of you and can't wait to see what the next year brings!
Love -
Mommy & Daddy
